Participating in Other MHC Asian Organizations

ACE House (Asian center for empowerment)

The ACE House is one of Mount Holyoke's cultural centers that was built to provide an inclusive space for Asians while educating people more about Asian culture. There are four ACE House affiliated student orgs that frequently host fun events!

 Asian Students Association

Asian Students Association (ASA) is an inclusive organization aimed to celebrate, increase awareness of, and appreciate Pan-Asian heritage and culture. Many faculty members and students attend their annual cultural show, VariAsians, that showcases Pan-Asian food, culture, fashion, and performances. Although they will not be able to host an in-person VariAsians this year, they are hoping to host a virtual alternative and keep the tradition alive.

They have also recently launched a Big/Little program (sign up link here) for students who identify as part of the Pan-Asian diaspora. The program aims to build community, make our first-years feel welcome, and provide support in navigating a PWI.

Keep an eye out for more events such as movie nights, cooking potlucks, game nights, and webinars as the year progresses!

Vietnamese Students Association

The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) is a close-knit community of Vietnamese students who work together to host one of Mount Holyoke's largest annual events, Vietnam Night. Students and faculty come together to watch performances and enjoy Vietnamese food catered from Miss Saigon in Amherst.

AASIA (Asian/American Students in Action)

AASIA was founded at Mount Holyoke College in 1992 to address and bring awareness to issues affecting Asians in America. It serves as a support group and a voice for AAPI students on campus. AASIA also works to unite the AAPI community with other groups for students of color and other allies against racism and social and economical injustice.

You can also sign up to be a part of their Big/Little program

KSA (Korean Students Association)

KSA aims to provide a space for Korean and Korean American students both on and off-campus while spreading Korean culture to the community. We aim to help minorities establish their identities in America by spreading knowledge and cultural events.

Liga Filipina

Liga Filipina is a Mount Holyoke College student association promoting Filipino culture, understanding, and awareness. It is an inclusive group, open to anyone interested in learning and teaching others about the Philippines and its culture.
